Job Description

The Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and professional use of medicines within the pharmacy and the wider healthcare community. This role includes accurately dispensing prescription medications, reviewing prescriptions for correctness and patient safety, and providing professional advice to patients regarding the proper use of medicines. The Pharmacist also works closely with doctors, healthcare providers, and patients to ensure appropriate treatment and quality pharmaceutical care.

In addition, the Pharmacist oversees pharmacy operations, including ordering medicines and supplies, managing inventory and stock control systems, supervising pharmacy staff, and maintaining compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and ethical standards. The role also involves monitoring daily pharmacy activities, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring efficient and reliable service delivery at all times.

Selection Criteria

Criteria / Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s/College Degree in Pharmacy

- Minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience in a Retail/Community Pharmacy setting

- Good English communication skills, both oral and written

- Valid Pharmacist Registration/License

- Must be in good physical condition

Required Experience and Skills:

- Dispensing prescription medications accurately and safely

- Providing patients with information regarding medicines and proper usage

- Advising on generic substitution of prescribed pharmaceuticals

- Advising physicians and other healthcare professionals on medication-related matters

- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, patient care, and medication management
