Job Description

The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of a company's fleet of vehicles, vessels, and equipment. The role includes planning preventive maintenance programs, managing repair schedules, supervising maintenance personnel, controlling maintenance costs and budgets, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, maintaining maintenance records, and minimizing downtime to keep the fleet operating efficiently and safely.

Ocean Logistics Limited is a leading marine logistics company in Vanuatu, specializing in cargo transport, tug and barge services, vessel support, project logistics, marine construction, and emergency response solutions across Vanuatu and the South Pacific.

Selection Criteria

Relevant qualification in mechanical, marine, automotive, or engineering fields.

Minimum 3–5 years' experience in fleet, vessel, vehicle, or equipment maintenance management.

Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and repair planning.

Ability to manage maintenance budgets, procurement, and inventory of spare parts.

Experience supervising maintenance teams and contractors.

Good understanding of workplace health, safety, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.

Proficient in maintenance record keeping and reporting.

Good communication and leadership abilities.

Valid driver's license (and marine qualifications if applicable to vessel fleets).

Desirable

Experience with tug and barge operations or marine fleets.

Knowledge of logistics and transport operations.

Experience using computerized maintenance management systems.
