LECTURER IN INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT)

National University of Vanuatu (NUV) • Full-time

The Lecturer in Information and Communication Technology will be responsible for developing courses, teaching and undertaking research in ICT subjects for the National University of Vanuatu. The Lecturer will contribute to the development and delivery of undergraduate ICT courses in accordance with the academic priorities of the NUV School of Science and the broader strategic direction of the University.

The Lecturer in Information and Communication Technology will be responsible for:

  • Developing and teaching ICT courses in areas such as Software Engineering, Databases, Cloud Computing, DevOps, Networks and Server Systems, and Cybersecurity.
  • Preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, laboratories and practical classes, and developing assessments that support independent learning.
  • Mentoring and advising undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Undertaking individual and collaborative research relevant to ICT disciplines, including publishing research and presenting findings at national, regional and international conferences.
  • Supporting the development of student career pathways and internship opportunities through engagement with universities, government agencies, NGOs, private sector partners and professional bodies in Vanuatu and the Pacific region.
  • Contributing to the development of the School of Science and the National University of Vanuatu through academic collaboration, innovation, quality teaching and service to the University.
