## Reading Plans & Preparation

Read blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine materials and layout.
Calculate material requirements and prepare the work‑site.
Mix mortar, grout, or concrete to the correct consistency.

## Construction & Installation

Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone, or structural tiles to build walls, foundations, patios, garden walls, chimneys and fireplaces (residential, commercial, industrial).
Cut, trim, and shape bricks, blocks and stone using hand tools (hammers, chisels, crowbars) and power tools (saws, grinders) to match required dimensions.
Apply mortar or adhesive; ensure each masonry course (layer) stays level, plumb and properly aligned.
Install veneer facing, prefabricated masonry units; fit fire‑bricks / refractory bricks to line furnaces, kilns, boilers and industrial smokestacks.
