VACANCY NOTICE: Two (2) Market Labourer
Port Vila City Council (PVCC) invites applications from suitably qualified, hardworking, honest, and reliable individuals for the position of Market Labourer at the PVCC Market.
The successful applicant will assist with maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and general upkeep of the market to ensure a safe, clean, and pleasant environment for vendors, customers, and the public.

Location : PVCC Headquarters
Candidates with the following Qualification and Experience are eligible to apply :
Education /Training : Year 10 Certificate
Experience : 2 years
Language : Ability to read and write in English, French is desirable and knowledge of Bislama
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should possess the following:
- A minimum of basic education.
- Previous experience in cleaning, labouring, or market maintenance will be an advantage.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual work.
- Honest, punctual, disciplined, and reliable.
- Able to follow instructions and work under supervision.
- Willing to work as part of a team and maintain good working relationships.
- Willing to work flexible hours when required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Cleaning the market premises, walkways, and surrounding areas.
- Collecting and disposing of rubbish in designated waste disposal areas.
- Sweeping, washing, and maintaining market floors and public spaces.
- Assisting with the proper arrangement and maintenance of market facilities.
- Supporting the Market Foreman or Supervisor in daily market operations.
- Reporting any damage, maintenance issues, or safety hazards within the market.
- Assisting with the loading, unloading, and movement ofmaterials when required.
- Ensuring that market areas remain clean, hygienic, and safe always.
- Performing other duties assigned by the supervisor or management.
