Assistant Maintenance Manager

Job Description

this role is a key leadership position within our office team,responsible for overseeing mainteacross our fleet of vessels and machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

Support and manage daily maintenance operations for vessels, equipment, and facilities

.Oversee the use of the CMMS (MEX) for job tracking, scheduling, and reporting

·Assist in planning and coordinating routine and emergency maintenance activities

Ensure maintenance tasks are completed on time and assets remain in good working condition.

.Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure availability of spare parts and materiels.

Support sourcing and ordering of spare parts, including working with suppliers and tracking deliverie.

Monitor equipment performance and report recurring issues or breakdowns.

.Provide support during maintenance activities and ensure safety procedures are followed

·Prepare basic maintenance and procurement reports for management

·Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or supervisor

Selection Criteria

Proven experience in maintenance operations, preferably within marine, industrial, or heavy equipment environments.

Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Ability to assist in planning, scheduling, and supervising routine and preventative maintenance activities.

Experience in troubleshooting faults and coordinating timely repairs to minimize downtime.

Good understanding of safety standards and compliance, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

Ability to manage maintenance records, inventory of spare parts, and reporting requirements.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with operations teams, contractors, and crew.

Competence in using Maintenance Expert(MEX) and basic computer applications (e.g., Excel, Word...).

Relevant technical qualification or trade certification in engineering, mechanics, or a related field.
