COMMUNICATION AND PUBLIC RELATION OFFICER

The Government of the Republic of Vanuatu (GOV) has established a Project Management Unit to manage it Major Project Implementation Programs and Project Activities known as the Vanuatu Project Management Unit (VPMU). The entity is established within the Prime Minister’s Portfolio as the Executing Agency for the Government of Vanuatu to provide an oversight on major infrastructure project implementation aimed at facilitating poverty reduction through economic growth.
Vanuatu Project Management Unit governed by a Steering Committee is urgently seeking an experienced Communication and Public Relation Officer with an outstanding communication and Public Relation skills.
Qualification and Experiences
The successful applicant will need to show the following skills, experience and qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a related field.
- Master Degree’s is desirable in communications, public relations or business administration.
- Have 8-10 years of experience in the public relations field include corporate communication with proven track record of successful media relations and campaign
- Craft press releases, speeches, articles and develop communication strategies ensuring position public perception
- Excellent verbal communication for public speaking, presentations and interpersonal interactions
- Interact professionally with journalists and media outlets effectively
- Responsible for social media platforms and engaging with audience online
- Ability to conduct research and analysis data to inform communication strategies
- Skills in managing multiple projects communications dateline including budgets.
- Ability to think creatively to develop engaging campaigns and solutions
- Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and new communication technologies
- Careful attention to detail in writing and project execution
- Ability to work collaborate with the team
- Driving license is required
The Communication and public relations Officer will undertake all communications and encompasses all methods of conveying information, both internally and externally, including advertising, crafting of narratives with positive engagement with the stakeholder and the public, primarily through communication strategy shaping public perception and reputation on the projects.
