ADVERTISEMENT OF VACANCY IN THE PUBLIC SERVICE

The Vanuatu Public Service Commission wishes to inform the public of an advertisement of the following Senior Position within the Government on Contract Basis;

Purpose of the Position:

The Director Generals main functions are to oversee and coordinate overall management and implementation of the core programs and priorities of the Ministry. He or she is an Administrator and policy advisor to the Minister. DG’s Office is to ensure that the Ministry achieve efficiently and effectively its strategic objectives and to be accountable to PSC and the Government.

Selection Criteria:

Qualification – Master’s Degree.

Special Business Education – Health Administration, Business Administration and Management, Laws, Economic studies or any other related field.

Experience – A Minimum 20 years’ experience or above in a Senior leadership or management role either in Public or Private Sector Institution, relating to Health sector.

Technical Competencies – In-depth Knowledge on Health sector strategy and Ability to Develop Health associated policies to be implemented by MOH.

Generic Competencies – Strong leadership skills, Communication and Interpersonal Skills, Management and Organizational skills, Financial and Budget Management, Project Management, Problem solving and Analytical skills, Stakeholder Engagement, Innovation and Policy development.

Leadership Competencies – Strategic Vision and Direction, Decision Making and Accountability, Process Management, Motivated, Result Oriented, team leadership and Change Management.

Behavioural Competencies – Integrity and Ethical conduct, Collaboration and Teamwork, Adaptability and Flexibility, Decision making.

Language – Bislama, French and English.
