HEAVY DIESEL MECHANIC

Fletcher Construction Vanuatu is looking for an experienced and reliable Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our workshop team at Stella Mare Yard.
This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of construction equipment, trucks, and light vehicles to ensure they remain safe, reliable, and productive for project operations throughout Vanuatu.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on:
- Excavators and heavy construction equipment
- Trucks and heavy vehicles
- Utes, pickups, and light vehicles
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine faults.
- Complete preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimise downtime.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Ensure tools, workshop areas, and equipment are kept clean and organised.
- Work closely with supervisors and operators to maintain fleet availability.
- Proven experience as a mechanic working on heavy equipment, trucks, and light vehicles.
- Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and vehicle electrical systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Commitment to producing quality work safely and efficiently.
