PROJECT LEAD – DIGITAL AND FINANCIAL COMPETENCY ENHANCEMENT PROJECT
Vodafone Vanuatu is seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Lead to be based in Port Vila and drive our Digital and Financial Competency Enhancement Project.
Mission:
As Project Lead, you will manage a nationwide initiative focused on enhancing digital and financial skills in underserved communities across seven islands in Vanuatu. This fixed-term role requires strong leadership, project management, and community engagement skills to strengthen financial literacy, increase awareness of digital financial services, and promote the use of M-VATU mobile money and digital tools.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Project Management & Execution
- Lead the overall implementation and coordination of the project across all target locations.
- Develop and maintain a detailed project plan and schedule, ensuring milestones are met.
- Manage the project budget, resources, and reporting in line with Vodafone’s internal standards.
B. Stakeholder Coordination
- Engage with local communities, traditional leaders, business owners, women-led MSMEs, persons with disabilities, and informal sector workers.
- Build partnerships with opinion leaders, merchants, and agents to support grassroots digital inclusion.
- Organize community meetings, consultations, and follow-up engagements.
C. Training & Content Oversight
- Guide the creation of training modules and awareness materials covering:
- Financial literacy
- Digital financial tools and mobile money – M-VATU
- Oversee delivery of training workshops, outreach campaigns, and digital skills education in local languages (Bislama)
D. Team Leadership
- Recruit, coordinate, and manage a team of field officers, trainers, and support personnel
- Ensure strong logistical planning for travel, equipment, and materials distribution to outer islands
E. Monitoring, Reporting & Impact
- Monitor progress, capture outcomes, and manage field reporting tools
- Provide regular updates to Vodafone’s leadership team on implementation status and impact
- Support project evaluation and sustainability planning at the conclusion of the project
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Community Development, ICT, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing multi-stakeholder or community-based projects
- Proven experience in digital literacy, financial education, or rural development preferred
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, including cross-cultural communication
- Strong leadership, team coordination, and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to work independently, travel extensively, and adapt to rural or remote setting
- Familiarity with Vanuatu’s social and economic landscape is an advantage
- Fluency in Bislama and English required; French is an asset
