Where you come in:
In this fulltime contract position based in Port Vila Vanuatu, you will report to the Human Resource and Admin manager and responsible for overseeing the effective Human Resource specific general duties of the Human Resources function of Save the Children’s support services department in Vanuatu. You will support the Human Resource and Admin Manager to assist in managing the human sources of Save the Children to optimize the implementation of programs in Vanuatu and ensuring employee satisfaction.

You will make an impact by:
Human Resources
- Manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes.
- Provide timely HR support and guidance to staff and managers.
- Coordinate staff training, performance management, probation reviews, and employee engagement activities.
- Maintain HR records, databases, and compliance with HR policies and procedures.
- Manage visa and work permit processes for international staff.
- Promote Save the Children’s values and a positive workplace culture.
Finance
- Prepare and administer payroll accurately and on time.
- Reconcile HR-related balance sheet accounts and support audits.
- Respond to payroll-related queries and ensure compliance with financial procedures.
Business Partnering
- Support managers with performance reviews, staff development, retention, and succession planning.
- Assist with staff engagement surveys and employee communications.
- Provide advice and support on people management matters.
Health, Safety, Security & Risk Management
- Promote a safe, healthy, and secure working environment.
- Support health and safety awareness, reporting, and risk mitigation activities.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety policies and procedures.
Child Protection & Safeguarding
- Champion child safeguarding and maintain a child-safe workplace.
- Ensure compliance with child safeguarding policies, standards, and reporting requirements.
- Support staff safeguarding training and background check compliance.
- Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and incidents.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience in HR administration, recruitment, payroll, and employee relations.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR information systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
- Commitment to child safeguarding, workplace safety, and organisational values.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or a related field
