Heavy Duty Driver

Job Description
VCCE is seeking an experienced Heavy-duty Driver who will operate and maintain large trucks or specialized vehicles to transport cement safely and efficiently over long distances while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operating Vehicles safely and following all traffic laws and company policies.
• Assist with the loading and unloading cargo, ensuring it is properly secured to prevent damage.
• Reporting mechanical issues, accidents, or violations promptly o supervisor or Management
• Maintaining accurate records of driving hours, vehicle service and deliveries to comply with regulations.
• Collaborating with dispatchers and logistic teams to optimize delivery schedules.
• Adhere to traffic regulations, safety protocols and emergency procedures, including first aid if necessary.
Organisation Description
Vanuatu Copra & Cocoa Exporters Ltd (VCCE) is the Vanuatu's largest exporter of copra and cocoa in Vanuatu, purchasing from farmers over the provinces of TORBA, SANMA, PENAMA and MALAMPA.
VCCE has been operating for over 22 years, whereby our head office is based in Santo, branches in Malekula and Port Vila with over 10 sub-branches in outer islands, bringing service closer to rural farmers. VCCE also imports and sells cement through its operations throughout Vanuatu.
Selection Criteria
• Must have a valid driver’s license for heavy-duty vehicles.
• Proven driving experience with heavy trucks for more than 3 years.
• Must have knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair, including routine checks and minor repairs.
• Attention to safety and detail, with the ability to respond to traffic, weather, or mechanical emergencies.
• Strong work ethic and reliability, including adaptability to unexpected situations.
• Physical ability to lift and load items.
• Professionalism, punctuality, and string time management skills.
